Inside Our Lifestyle Medicine Program

If you’ve seen that we’re now offering Lifestyle Medicine at Core Family Practice, you might be wondering what that actually means.

In simple terms, it’s focusing on the day-to-day habits that drive your health—what you eat, how you move, how you sleep, stress, all of it. I’ve been certified in Lifestyle Medicine since 2018, and it’s really changed how I approach care.

A big piece of this is nutrition—usually a whole food, plant-forward approach. Not in a rigid, all-or-nothing way, but in a way that actually works in real life. We talk through the practical stuff: busy weeks, grocery shopping, eating out, family habits—all the things that tend to derail people. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s something you can be consistent with.

This program is also different from a typical office visit. Instead of intermittent, problem-based appointments, this is more of a space to slow down and look at the bigger picture. What your day actually looks like, what’s getting in the way, and what’s realistic for you. Most people already know what they “should” be doing—the hard part is making it stick. That’s where I help.

We then build a plan together. There are three options:

● Prevent+ is more of a consultative option—great for people already into plant-based nutrition who want guidance and a second set of eyes. Maybe you live far enough away and don’t have a plant-based primary care doctor, and coming to Glen Mills for primary care just isn’t practical.

● Core+ is where most people land—more structure, regular check-ins, and ongoing support.

● Reverse+ is more intensive, usually for people trying to really change the course of a condition or reduce medications.

All of the programs include lab work, so we can personalize care to you.

One important point—this doesn’t replace your primary care doctor, and I’m not prescribing medications through this program. This is available whether or not you get your primary care with us. My role here is to help with behavior change—figuring out what’s realistic, adjusting when things aren’t working, and helping you stay on track over time.

Visits are virtual, which makes it easier to stay consistent. Honestly, this is some of my favorite work. It’s not about quick fixes—it’s about helping people feel better in a way that actually lasts. If you’ve ever thought, “I know what I should be doing, I just can’t seem to do it consistently,” this is exactly what this is for.
