How Healthcare Should Be

A refreshingly different model of primary care

Comprehensive Primary Care

Welcome to Core Family Practice, where the patients are the core of our practice. Core Family Practice was founded in 2016 so no patient would feel like a number. We strive to return to medicine that is personal and accessible with a focus on prevention.

At Core, each patient receives care from their personal physician who spends the necessary time with them and is accessible when needed. There is no pressure to see over twenty patients a day and no requirement to check off a list of questions that do not impact a patient's long term health.

Come experience our refreshing model of primary care.

Meet Our Doctors

Richard Haug, MD

Dr. Ricky Haug did his undergraduate work at Cornell University and after graduating from Temple School of Medicine he then completed his family medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. After residency he moved to West Chester, PA and has been practicing in the area since 2009. While doing his training in Philadelphia and practicing medicine for Penn Family Medicine Southern Chester County he noticed that time, accessibility and cost are major barriers to optimal health. There was a time in the not so distant past when strong relationships, accessibility and affordable care were the core to practicing medicine. Dr. Haug is passionate about returning those qualities to his patients and utilizing the great technology we have available today. When he is not in the office, Dr. Haug is passionate about spending time with his amazing wife and two awesome boys. He also enjoys exercising, gardening, carpentry and traveling.

Paul Yerkes, MD

Dr. Paul Yerkes graduated from Villanova University and, after practicing as an Engineer for five years, decided to pursue medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine.  He completed his Family Medicine residency at Christiana Care Health System where he also served as Chief Resident.   Dr. Yerkes is passionate about serving the community in which he was born and raised and hopes to bring a return of the “town doc” feel by providing high quality primary care built on a foundation of meaningful relationships, access, and trust.  Dr. Yerkes pursued a job in direct primary care as he believes the cost of health care should be transparent and insurance should not inhibit care.  In addition to serving his community, Dr. Yerkes has also served his country as a Combat Engineer in the United States Marine Corps and has a passion for providing healthcare to veterans.  Outside of Medicine, Dr. Yerkes enjoys exercising, golfing, mountain biking, gardening, and spending time with his three children and his incredible wife.

Bryanne E. Robson, MD

Dr. Bryanne Robson is a Family Medicine physician joining Core Family Practice in March 2022. She was the first female physician to be board certified in Lifestyle Medicine in the state of Delaware. Dr. Robson takes pride in and enjoys getting to know her patients as individuals and helping them achieve their health goals by challenging them to make lifestyle changes and set goals for themselves. Dr. Robson attended Connecticut College and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a concentration in Cell and Molecular Biology. She went on to work in a research laboratory at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston for two years prior to attending medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Robson completed her Family Medicine residency training as chief resident at Crozer-Chester Medical Center and continued to work for the health system for three years after graduation. While at Crozer, she was awarded the Behavioral Science Award, recognized for her research in Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence and was named Resident of the Year. Prior to joining Core Family Practice, Dr. Robson worked at Progressive Health of Delaware and co-led a program to reverse diabetes through lifestyle changes. Dr. Robson has a passion for women’s health and contraception, caring for families across generations, and nutrition in medicine. She received a Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University and is a WellStart Health Coach. Outside of medicine, Dr Robson loves traveling, exploring the outdoors, quoting The Office with her husband, and challenging friends and family to games of Pictionary.

Michele Sheptock, DO

Dr. Michele Sheptock grew up in Northampton, PA and attended the University of Pittsburgh for her undergraduate work.  After college, Michele attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.  While in medical school Michele shadowed at a direct primary care practice in her hometown area and decided she wanted to practice in that model after residency. Michele felt DPC was the only way she would develop meaningful relationships with her patients which would allow her to provide better care.  Michele is completing her family medicine residency at Christiana Care and will be starting full time at Core Family Practice in Kennett Square on August 1st 2023.  In her spare time Michele enjoys watching sports, playing board games, escape rooms and spending time with her husband, children and dogs.

Richard A. Francesco, DO, MS, CAQSM

Dr. Richard Francesco is a primary care sports medicine physician from the Philadelphia region. He is board-certified to practice both family medicine and sports medicine. Dr. Francesco did his undergraduate work at Saint Joseph’s University, followed by graduate and medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Francesco completed residency training in family medicine at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in rural Kentucky. It was there he began working with athletes and weekend warriors of all ages and decided to pursue fellowship training in sports medicine with Albany Medical Center in upstate New York. He has worked as a team physician for multiple academic centers including Lindsey Wilson College, Siena College and The University of Albany. Dr. Francesco is first and foremost a family medicine physician trained to evaluate and care for patients of all ages. He believes direct primary care aligns with his practice goals best as it allows him to provide full spectrum medical care to his patients without access limitations or time constraints. His subspecialization in sports medicine supplements his residency training by adding additional expertise in non-operative orthopedic treatment, ultrasound guided injections and concussion management. When not seeing patients, Dr. Francesco enjoys snowboarding, playing guitar and spending time with his friends, family, and amazing girlfriend.

“This is the way medicine should be practiced. My wife, daughter and I have all joined Core Family Practice and have been pleased with our interactions with the physicians and their very friendly and competent staff. If you are looking for a primary care team that is genuinely interested in your health I would strongly recommend contacting Core Family Practice.”

— I.G

“For years I’ve been against the way the insurance industry tends to control the “care” we receive from medical practices. When I heard about Core Family Practice I knew it was exactly what I had been searching for. When the doctor himself called to answer my inquiry to learn more I was shocked! My first visit was the most comprehensive visit I’ve ever had with a doctor. The ability to text and receive a response is also mind blowing. Dr. Yerkes is absolutely wonderful. I’ve been a part of this practice for just a month now and I’ve never felt so at ease before. Here you aren’t just another patient, you are a person. A person that is cared about and listened to. The entire staff is warm and welcoming. It is a very stark contrast from the previous doctors I have seen. Here health is seen as not just physical but also mental and emotional. This is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself and I can’t thank this compassionate team enough for what they are doing for this community by providing actual genuine thorough care.”
